Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. How many sessions are needed to see signs of improvement?

While each individual/couple is different, we ask that you make a commitment of at least 12 sessions in order to see significant changes.  Many studies show that new habits and new patterns of behavior take at least 30 days to stick.  As years of practicing maladaptive coping skills, styles of communication, or/and unrealized dreams can take ongoing practice with someone who can help you to stay accountable to your commitments to change.

2. What if the East Longmeadow location is too far, or the travel time becomes cumbersome, I can't find a babysitter, or I'm temporarily unable to drive?

Schedule a 50 minute session with me live.

By Phone, Skype or Text.. You can be anywhere in the world and access my support and suggestions. Just find a quiet and private spot for yourself, and await my call, at the exact time we have scheduled, and according to your time zone. Insurance and credit cards accepted.

3. Can I/we get started while we wait for the first appointment?

Yes, absolutely!  Please email Pamelah with a short 1-2 paragraph synapsis of what you would like more help with (if you have not already done so by phone).  Feel free to be general with your description as email is not a securely private avenue.  Within 24 hours Pamelah will send you helpful readings and tools to begin resolving your problems.

4. What if one of us has more individual issues as we do Couples Counseling?

Pamelah will recommend individual counseling for one or both of you if it becomes clear that those issues are more personal and not clearly related to the two of you as a Couple.
