Health

Wellness is a whole-person process.

I have been “healthy” most of my life—free from sickness and disease. Until I hit my 50s, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Six years later, after surgery and a complete lifestyle change, there is no cancer detected.

To become “healthy” again I needed to not only change my food and lifestyle choices, but equally as important, my mindset.

How we deal with stress, anger, resentment, trust, forgiveness and sadness has a huge impact on the longevity of our lives, our organs, our nervous system, and our vitality overall.

To be healthy requires our whole Mind, Body, and Spirit. It’s an ongoing work-in-progress. We can start with being kind to ourselves and from there begin making changes that stick, because we genuinely care about our wellbeing.

“I help women get back their desire to be well, so they can have lots of energy, feel good about themselves , and have an ongoing thirst for life.”

Connection

Connection can take many forms.

I was born with a very shy disposition. Big crowds overwhelmed me. When my mom brought in our puppy for show-and-tell in first grade, I froze. I put my head down on the desk and was paralyzed to speak.

I’ve come a long way since then. I’ve spoken to big audiences, managed more than a dozen Bachelor’s-level Mentors, supervised countless Master’s-level students, and have run my own private practice for more than 20 years.

In all situations where I went beyond my comfort zone I was motivated by the desire to feel connected.

When I am a vital part of my community, I feel plugged in, like I belong, and that is worth the awkwardness I feel in overcoming my shyness each time.

Being connected can also mean not feeling lonely when we find ourselves alone. It can mean being connected to the wind blowing and birds singing when we are outside, connected to a piece of art or great music, or connected to our peace of mind when we are sitting still or doing some mindless task. Connection is a state of mind that can include others—or not.

Many women come to me feeling alone, disconnected from themselves and others. Together we will discover how unalone we really are and can become.
